Ardo: Townsville's first five star hotel
Project Proponent
Morris Group is a diverse collection of businesses spread across Australia and the world. In Townsville the Morris Group owns The Ville Resort Casino and the newly constructed Ardo.
The Group also owns a number of luxury island retreat options, including Orpheus Island and Pelorus Private Island. Both properties offer a high-end, secluded island experience on the Great Barrier Reef, catering to those seeking an exclusive and relaxing escape.
The newly built Ardo hotel has provided the Townsville region with its first five-star accommodation option. Featuring 132 stylish suites, two signature restaurants, a day spa, and an iconic rooftop pool and bar with panoramic views of the marina, Magnetic Island, and the Strand, the $88 million resort has elevated the hospitality landscape in this coastal Queensland city.
Ardo is the latest addition to the Morris Group's growing portfolio, which also includes the neighbouring The Ville hotel and casino that the group acquired in 2014. Recognising the untapped potential of the Townsville market, Morris Group Executive Chairman Chris Morris identified the opportunity to further develop in the region.
"We’ve discovered is that there is still a gap in the market for luxury accommodation in Townsville, so what we’re doing with Ardo is building on what we already do well and providing another opportunity for high-end experiences in this special part of the world,"
Chris Morris, Executive Chairman, Morris Group
