Mater Private Hospital Townsville has commenced planning for the relocation of maternity and renal services from Hyde Park to the Pimlico Campus with detailed designs and construction of a new purpose-built facility underway.
The hospital expansion project involves the construction of a new, purpose-built single-level maternity suite as well as the refurbishment of an existing building to accommodate renal services. This will enable the provision of modern, state-of-the-art facilities to better serve the community. Additionally, the expanded renal capacity aims to meet the growing demand for these services driven by the local population growth in the region. A $25 million NAIF loan supported the $34 million project, signifying its benefit to the region.
