Developing the Workforce for Emerging Industries
TAFE Queensland's new Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Training Facility is designed to support the expanding Queensland hydrogen industry, which is projected to reach $1.7 billion in annual exports by 2030. The new advanced manufacturing skills lab is designed to support the development of high-end technologies, including augmented reality, automation, and robotics. By providing specialised training and resources the lab will help equip the workforce with the skills needed to thrive in the evolving manufacturing sector. This initiative is a crucial part of the Queensland Government's $62 billion Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, focusing on skilling Queenslanders for the future.
The new facilities at the Bohle campus will provide qualifications in electrical, engineering and construction trades including many courses and apprenticeships that are completely free to students or employers.
