There is 33GW of potential energy across the corridor that will be unlocked with the development of the CopperString transmission line. With over 300 days of sunlight, paired with day and night winds in Hughenden, the region is set to be an energy powerhouse providing clean energy for Queensland and Australia.

The region is an emerging destination for the production and export of renewable hydrogen, with several projects progressing in the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel is another emerging industry for the region, with the recent announcement of refinery located in the Townsville State Development Area.
